Emmy Rossum Wore Julie de Libran Couture at the 78th Emmy Awards
Emmy Rossum wore a black ruffled Julie de Libran Couture gown with vintage Fred Leighton jewelry at the 78th Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.
Emmy Rossum brought a touch of vintage drama to the Emmys red carpet, and it fit her perfectly. The "Shameless" and "Furious" actress attended the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards on September 14 in Los Angeles, just days after celebrating her 40th birthday, and she used the occasion to go full romantic-gothic in a standout black gown.
Emmy wore a dress from Julie de Libran's Fall 2026 Couture collection, a designer she's turned to repeatedly this year for red carpet and press appearances. The gown featured a deep V-neckline trimmed in delicate black lace, with thin straps finished in small floral lace appliqués. A fitted, button-front bodice gave way at the waist to a dramatic tiered skirt, layers of ruffled satin and sheer floral lace cascading all the way down to the floor, creating volume and movement with every step. The mix of textures, structured buttons up top, soft ruffles below, gave the piece a slightly Victorian, romantic edge without feeling costume-y.
She paired the dress with vintage Fred Leighton jewelry, including ornate dangling earrings that picked up the gown's antique feel. Her dark curls were worn big and untamed, falling past her shoulders in loose ringlets, and she finished the look with a bold red lip that gave the whole outfit a pop of color against all that black.
Rossum has leaned heavily on Julie de Libran throughout 2026, having worn the French designer's pieces to the New York City Ballet Spring Gala, a "Furious" press stop on The View, and now the Emmys. It's clearly become one of her go-to partnerships this year, and this tiered, lace-trimmed gown might be the most striking version yet.
