Florence Pugh Wore Custom Vivienne Westwood at the 78th Emmy Awards

Florence Pugh made her first-ever Emmys appearance one to remember. The "Midsommar" and "Dune" actress, known for her sharp instincts both on screen and on the red carpet, walked the blue carpet at the Peacock Theater on September 14 for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, where she served as a presenter rather than a nominee, and did so in a gown that leaned all the way into romantic maximalism.

Florence wore a custom gown from Vivienne Westwood, designed under creative director Andreas Kronthaler, in a soft lilac tone. The dress featured the label's signature corseted, hourglass bodice with a high-waisted, A-line skirt trailing into a long train. A sheer, sequin-covered overlay gave the structured gown a subtle shimmer, while dramatic tulle sleeves, cut in a slightly darker purple, draped off the shoulders and down her arms before flowing into the train, softening the silhouette without losing any of Westwood's signature architecture.

She paired the gown with a striking Bvlgari High Jewelry necklace and matching ring, pink gold pieces set with delicate pink and green stones and clustered diamonds that complemented the dress's springtime palette perfectly. On her feet, she wore satin platform heels, part of a bigger platform-shoe moment on this year's carpet. Florence wore her blonde hair pulled up into a deliberately messy, spiked bun, a nod to Vivienne Westwood's own punk-inspired legacy, paired with bold brows, lined eyes, and a glossy lip.

Florence presented the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series award alongside Julia Garner, handing Rhea Seehorn her first-ever Emmy win for "Pluribus." While she wasn't nominated this year, Florence has a major television moment on the horizon, she's set to star in Zoe Kazan's Netflix miniseries adaptation of "East of Eden," alongside Christopher Abbott, Mike Faist, and Ciarán Hinds.
