Lili Reinhart Wore Custom Miu Miu Minidress Honoring "My Date with the President's Daughter"

Lili Reinhart closed out her press tour the same way she started it: with another perfectly styled throwback. The "Riverdale" actress, who plays Olive Smith in the new Prime Video rom-com The Love Hypothesis, hit the Los Angeles premiere on September 22 in a custom Miu Miu minidress with a very specific reference point.

The dress was a bubblegum-pink velvet micro minidress with a scoop, low-cut neckline trimmed in crisp white piping, held up by thin white spaghetti straps. The hem stopped high on the thigh with a little scalloped edge, and the fit was clean and simple, letting the color and the velvet texture carry the whole look. Stylist Ib Abdel Nasser built it as a direct homage to the pink dress worn by Elisabeth Harnois as Hallie Richmond in the 1998 Disney Channel movie My Date with the President's Daughter, costume designed by Delphine White. Reinhart has said this dress was actually the one that sparked her whole run of movie-inspired press tour looks.

She kept the jewelry light and delicate: a small gold pendant necklace from Melinda Maria and tiny stud earrings from Effy, paired with Miu Miu Crystal Embellished Satin Sandals. Her hair, which she dyed brunette to play Olive, was worn down and straight with a slight side part, and her makeup stayed soft and dewy.

This wraps a full month of rom-com tributes for the Love Hypothesis run, which has already included nods to How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Mean Girls, Ever After, Miss Congeniality and Uptown Girls. The film, based on Ali Hazelwood's novel, stars Reinhart opposite Tom Bateman and is directed by Claire Scanlon. It streams on Prime Video starting September 23.
