Nicole Kidman Wore Custom Chanel by Matthieu Blazy at the 78th Emmy Awards
Nicole Kidman wore a custom white Chanel gown by Matthieu Blazy, covered in 46 handmade flowers, to the 78th Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.
Nicole Kidman made a striking return to the Emmys red carpet after nearly a decade away, and she made sure it counted. The Oscar-winning actress, nominated as an executive producer for Apple TV+'s "Margo's Got Money Troubles," arrived at the Peacock Theater on September 14 for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards in her first appearance at the ceremony since 2019.
Nicole wore a custom gown designed by Chanel creative director Matthieu Blazy, inspired by the house's Fall 2026 Couture collection. The off-the-shoulder, wool crepe midi dress featured a fitted bustier bodice with a cinched waist and a thigh-high slit through the A-line skirt. What made the piece truly stand out was the neckline, covered in 46 individual three-dimensional flowers, each handcrafted from layered silk crepe, silk organza, and raffia, all in a soft, tonal palette of whites that gave the whole look an ethereal, almost bridal quality.
Staying true to her head-to-toe Chanel moment, Nicole accessorized entirely with pieces from the house, fine jewelry, pointed-toe black heels, and even her shoes came from the label. Styled by Jason Bolden, she wore her blonde hair swept up into a chic updo with soft, face-framing pieces left loose, and finished the look with a soft, rosy makeup palette.
Kidman became a Chanel ambassador in October 2025 under Blazy's creative direction, and this gown marks one of her most detailed collaborations with the house yet. She previously won two Emmys, including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series for "Big Little Lies" back in 2017. Between the milestone comeback and this intricately crafted gown, Nicole proved her Emmys hiatus was well worth the wait.
