REI AMI stuns in a daring sheer Hilá look at the 2026 MTV VMAs, pairing intricate details with statement jewelry and glamorous hair.
REI AMI brought plenty of attitude to the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, arriving on the blue carpet in a daring all-black look by Hilá.
The singer and rapper, who has become widely known as the singing voice of Zoey in Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters, embraced a dramatic sheer aesthetic for the September 27 ceremony at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The 2026 VMAs featured some of music’s biggest names, with Snoop Dogg hosting the ceremony.
For the occasion, REI AMI wore an intricate black ensemble covered in delicate leaf-like appliqué details. The barely-there design featured a structured bra-style top with thin straps and layers of black embellishment tracing her torso. The detailing continued into the matching sheer trousers, creating a striking illusion effect while giving the outfit plenty of texture.
From the front, the look revealed a series of decorative strands across the bodice and waist, while the back offered an even more dramatic view with criss-crossing straps and an open design. The sheer pants continued the leafy motif from hip to ankle, finishing in a flowing, almost train-like shape.
She paired the outfit with black high-heeled shoes and piled on sparkling silver jewelry. Multiple bracelets, rings and layered necklaces added extra shine against the black ensemble, while a chunky choker-style necklace framed the neckline.
Her beauty look was just as striking. REI AMI wore her dark hair in a messy, voluminous updo with long bangs sweeping across her forehead, giving the look a slightly undone edge. Dramatic black eyeliner, softly glowing skin and a neutral lip completed the glamorous makeup.
REI AMI, whose real name is Sarah Yeeun Lee, is a Korean-American singer, rapper, songwriter and voice actress. She first gained attention for her solo music, including the viral track “Freak,” and reached an even wider audience as the singing voice of Zoey in KPop Demon Hunters.
