Zara Larsson's Y2K Street Style Mixes Vintage Versace and Crystal Platforms

Zara Larsson kept her Y2K fashion streak going on a walk through New York City's Lower East Side on September 23. The Swedish pop star, known for hits like "Lush Life" and "Ain't My Fault" and her most recent album Midnight Sun, has built a real reputation this year for pulling early-2000s pieces straight out of designer archives, and this outfit was no exception.

Larsson wore a bright pink halter top from Versace's Spring/Summer 2004 collection, fitted close through the torso with a plunging neckline, a gathered bust and ruched sides. She paired it with heavily distressed, low-rise light-wash jeans, cut loose through the leg with large shredded openings running across both thighs and knees. A multi-row crystal belt sat right above the waistband, drawing a sharp, sparkly line between the smooth pink top and the torn denim. The proportions were the whole point here: fitted and bright up top, loose and beat-up down below.

She finished the look with metallic pink platform heels and oversized crystal hoop earrings that echoed the belt. Her blonde hair was pulled into a high, loose bun with a few face-framing pieces left out around her temples, and her nails were done in a bright yellow that matched her playful, high-contrast styling.

This is only the latest stop in Larsson's ongoing Y2K style moment. She's worn several vintage Versace pieces this year, including a Spring 2005 corset gown at the YouTube Upfronts and a Spring 2006 floral corset dress at Billboard Women in Music, and she recently launched a Depop drop selling pieces straight from her own early-aughts wardrobe, with proceeds going to charity.
