Zendaya custom Prada crystal gown 78th Emmy Awards

Zendaya didn't just bring her usual red carpet excellence to the Emmys this year, she brought a brand new look to go with it. The "Euphoria" star, up for her third Lead Actress nomination for playing Rue, stepped out at the Peacock Theater on September 14 in a gown that instantly became one of the night's most talked-about moments, and debuted a bold new haircut while she was at it.

Zendaya wore a custom Prada gown built entirely around next season's biggest texture trend: dense, chandelier-like beading. The sheer, nude-toned base was layered with clusters, droplets, and scattered tiers of clear and silver crystals, creating a shimmering, almost liquid effect across the plunging neckline, fitted waist, and long column skirt that flowed into a subtle train. The deep-cut neckline was edged in soft, skin-toned tulle, giving the whole gown its signature "naked dress" illusion.

Styled once again by her longtime collaborator Law Roach, Zendaya paired the dress with jewelry from Mikimoto's Petals collection, including Les Pétales Place Vendôme pearl-and-diamond earrings, two coordinating pearl rings, a diamond-and-pearl bracelet, and a diamond-covered watch. Roach said he wanted to make the brand's classic pearls feel "fresh, modern and young." On her feet, she wore barely-there pink satin stiletto pumps, her go-to formal shoe style, which added a soft pop of color against all that silver.

But the real headline of the night was her hair. Zendaya showed off a brand-new pixie cut, her shortest ever, styled with tousled texture on top and soft waves framing her face. Roach later revealed the dramatic chop was inspired by Halle Berry. Between the fresh hair, the standout Prada gown, and her sixth career Emmy nomination, Zendaya once again proved why she's considered one of the most consistent style forces on the awards circuit.
