Alexa Chung Brings a Preppy Aesthetic to Miu Miu in a Striped Cardigan and Satin Skirt
Alexa Chung leans into the preppy aesthetic at Miu Miu Spring 2027 in a striped cardigan, satin skirt, leather pumps and a Vivant bag.
Alexa Chung showed up to Miu Miu with the cozy-chic, preppy aesthetic she's known for. The British model, presenter and designer, who launched her career on TV and became a fashion muse, is a front-row regular at the label. She attended the Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2027 show on Sunday, October 4, at the Palais d'Iéna during Paris Fashion Week.
Her outfit mixed chunky knitwear with sleek satin. The star piece was an oversized, zip-front cardigan in thick, textured yarn with stripes in navy, olive, gray and white, plus a high ribbed collar, ribbed cuffs and a ribbed hem. Under it, she wore a cream camisole with a delicate tie at the neckline. She finished the look with a chocolate satin pencil skirt with a small Miu Miu logo tab at the waist and a slightly raw, frayed hem that fell just above the knee. Together, the pieces gave the classic preppy aesthetic a modern Miu Miu twist.
The accessories were all in warm tan and brown. Alexa wore Miu Miu leather pumps in a polished cognac shade with pointed toes, and carried a Miu Miu Vivant nappa leather bag in brown, a soft top-handle bag with a silver zip and a small lock charm. It was a very retro, 1990s bag that matched the preppy knit. Her dark brown hair was shoulder-length and center-parted in loose, slightly tousled waves, and her makeup was natural and dewy, with soft pink lips.
Her love of Miu Miu runs deep. At Burberry's Winter 2026 show in February, she paired a purple leather coat with Miu Miu Regard sunglasses.
This season's show, titled "Here and Now," was full of the contrasts Miuccia Prada loves. It had crystal-covered bras, crumpled skirts, retro prints, bright sportswear and big, hulking bags. Gigi Hadid closed the show in her Miu Miu runway debut, and Olivia Colman, Jamie Bell and Emma Corrin also walked. Alexa sat in a front row that included Joey King, Lili Reinhart, Emma Mackey, Maude Apatow and Kate Mara.
Lili Reinhart sat in the same front row that day, wearing a leopard Miu Miu coat over a blush silk mini dress with a black Arcadie bag and satin mules.
