Ciara Wears a Black LaPointe Cutout Gown at the WSJ Innovator Awards
Ciara wore a black LaPointe cutout gown that showed off her baby bump, and Russell Wilson wore a navy satin suit at the WSJ Innovator Awards.
Ciara and Russell Wilson did date night properly at the 2026 WSJ. Magazine Innovator Awards. It was Thursday, October 29, in New York, and the couple walked the blue carpet together, her in black and him in shiny navy. According to BCK Online, the event was held at the Museum of Modern Art, and this was its 16th year.
The dress is a LaPointe gown, and Maeve Reilly styled her. It’s black, floor-length and stretchy, with long sleeves. Up top, two straps cross over the chest and leave little openings at the shoulders. Below that a diamond-shaped cutout shows her bare stomach, and yes, that’s her baby bump. The ruching down the middle draws the fabric in, then it flares into a soft, long skirt with a small train. It has no beading or sparkle at all, which is part of the appeal.
Ciara wore her brunette hair long and straight with a center part and some caramel streaks. Her makeup was smoky eyes and a glossy nude lip. Jewelry was easy. A huge diamond ring sat on one hand and a pavé band on the other, and no brands were named for them. If you want more of her recent red-carpet style, look at Ciara’s lingerie-inspired gown at NFL Honors.
Russell went the other way, in a navy satin double-breasted suit with wide peak lapels and a black turtleneck, black leather shoes, a gold watch and a couple of rings. It’s a glossy, very 1970s look. Their outfits don’t match, but they work together.
The two of them announced on September 6 that they’re expecting again. It’ll be Ciara’s fifth child and her fourth with Russell. They’ve been married since 2016, and just days before the awards they were named Philanthropists of the Year by Town & Country.
Ciara is the singer who gave us “Goodies” and “1, 2 Step”, and she’s been a pop and R&B favorite for a long time. Russell is the NFL quarterback she married. The night’s honorees included Rosalía, Amy Poehler, Martin McDonagh and designer Matthieu Blazy.
