Elle Fanning in Pink Robert Wun Couture Gown With Ballerina Hat in London

Elle Fanning isn’t playing it safe on this press tour, and her gown for the London fan screening of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping proves it. She walked the carpet at Westfield London on Wednesday, October 28, in a pale pink couture dress from Robert Wun’s Fall 2026 collection. The red carpet fit the mood, with giant bronze snake and bird sculptures and a green turf runway.

Let’s talk about the dress. The strapless bodice has a sculpted, scalloped neckline and a tight waist, and above the hips a stiff ruffle flares out like a pastry frill. From there the skirt turns into a huge tulle ball gown in soft blush pink that falls to the ankle. It looks sweet and a little strange at the same time, which is exactly what you’d expect from Wun. The Hong Kong-born, London-based designer is known for sculptural, trompe-l’œil shapes, and this gown is a good example.

The headpiece is the bit everyone will remember. Elle wore a small pink cone hat topped with an oval mirror, and inside it stands a tiny ballerina, like a music box. She pulled her blonde hair back neatly to keep the hat steady. Her makeup was soft, with rosy cheeks and a pink lip, and she grinned and waved at the cameras, clearly having fun.

Her jewelry stayed silver and simple. She wore a wavy diamond-style choker and a sparkly bracelet, so nothing competed with the dress. She finished with pale pink pumps with a ruched toe that match the gown. It’s a very Effie Trinket way to arrive, with a fairy-tale shape and a bit of Capitol whimsy.

She’s had two very different London looks this week. Earlier, she wore a floral print suit with a red bow hat, and you can read about Elle Fanning’s Vivienne Westwood suit too.

Elle plays the young Effie Trinket in the new prequel, and you may know her from Maleficent, The Great and A Complete Unknown. The film opens in UK cinemas on November 20. If you like her red-carpet style, see Elle Fanning in custom Valentino at the Academy Museum Gala.
