Gemma Chan Wears Dries Van Noten and Cartier Earrings to the “Josephine” BFI London Film Festival Screening
Gemma Chan wore a Dries Van Noten Fall 2026 painted-print dress and Cartier earrings to the Josephine screening at the BFI London Film Festival.
Gemma Chan went for a dress that looks like it was cut straight out of an old oil painting. She wore it to the Josephine screening at Curzon Soho on Tuesday night, as part of the BFI London Film Festival.
It’s Dries Van Noten, from the Fall 2026 collection, printed with a giant close-up of a Flemish painting in dark green, burnt orange and muddy brown. The shape is simple enough: sleeveless, high boat neckline, fabric twisted into a knot at the waist, then a long skirt that hangs a bit lopsided and hits the floor. It’s satin, so it caught the camera flashes pretty hard. There’s an open back too, which you only see in the photos from behind.
Jewellery was just a pair of long Cartier drop earrings, a ring and nothing else. Her hair was scraped back into a loose braid, a little messy on purpose, with a couple of strands hanging by her face. Makeup was soft, with a pink-nude lip. Rebecca Corbin-Murray styled it. For more Dries Van Noten on a red carpet, here’s Emma D’Arcy in Dries Van Noten at the Digger premiere in Los Angeles.
As for the film, Gemma plays Claire, whose young daughter gets seriously frightened after seeing a violent attack in a San Francisco park. Channing Tatum is her husband, Damien. Beth de Araújo wrote and directed it. It won the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at Sundance back in January, then picked up a Golden Bear nomination in Berlin. UK and US cinemas get it on November 20.
