Mckenna Grace wore a custom red Mônot halter gown to the 2026 Academy Museum Gala.

Mckenna Grace picked one colour and one shape for the Academy Museum Gala, and it worked. The actress wore a custom red halter gown by Mônot, and fans were quick to compare it to the red Calvin Klein dress Jennifer Lawrence wore to the Oscars in 2011. Molly Dickson styled the look.

The dress is simple. A deep, plunging V neckline, a fitted waist with a small seam under the bust, and a slim column skirt that falls straight to the floor. No beading, no ruffles, no train. The red is a clean, bright tomato shade, and it looks great against the pale curtains behind her. The halter ties behind the neck, so her shoulders and back stay bare.

She kept the extras minimal. A pair of small earrings and a thin ring were all you could see. Her hair did the talking. It was a long, honey-blonde cut, smooth and straight, with soft side-swept bangs framing her face and a little darker colour at the root. Makeup was warm and glowy. Her freckles stayed visible, with soft taupe shadow on her eyes and a brown-nude lip. If you like the shade, see these famous blonde actresses.

Mckenna has been acting since she was a kid. She got an Emmy nomination for a guest role on The Handmaid’s Tale, and she’s best known as Phoebe in Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. She also writes and sings her own songs. Next up is The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, out November 20, where she plays Maysilee Donner. She went to the gala with her castmates Joseph Zada, Whitney Peak and Maya Hawke, which makes the Jennifer Lawrence reference feel even more fitting. We saw the same franchise love in her Monique Lhuillier Katniss wedding dress look in Paris.

The sixth annual Academy Museum Gala was held Saturday night at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles. Charlize Theron, John Carpenter and Colman Domingo were honoured, and Taylor Swift closed the night with a performance.

Back in February she wore something very different. See her black strapless gown at the Scream 7 premiere.
