Taylor Swift Wears Custom Dior by Jonathan Anderson to the 2026 Academy Museum Gala
Taylor Swift wore a custom gray-blue Dior gown by Jonathan Anderson with Chopard diamonds to the 2026 Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles.
Taylor Swift went full fairy tale for the Academy Museum Gala. The pop superstar arrived on Saturday night in a custom Dior gown by Jonathan Anderson, and the Cinderella comparisons started right away. Her longtime stylist, Joseph Cassell Falconer, put the look together.
The dress is strapless, with a soft sweetheart neckline and a bodice of gathered silk. Tiny crystals are scattered all over it. At the centre of the chest sits a big sparkly bow, with a long beaded ribbon trailing down from it. The skirt is where it gets dreamy. It’s pleated and flares out from the waist, then sweeps the floor with a little train behind. The colour looks gray at first, but it’s really a washed, dusty blue.
The jewelry came from Chopard, and it’s a lot. Big chandelier earrings in platinum with clusters of diamonds, a diamond ring on her right hand and a slim diamond bracelet. No necklace. She also wore her engagement ring and wedding band. The earrings echo the bow, which was clearly the point.
Then there’s the hair. Taylor wore a short, wavy bob with curled-under ends and full bangs, almost a throwback to her 2015 look. Her makeup was classic too, with a sharp winged liner, a touch of pale shimmer on the lids and a rosy-mauve lip.
The dress also marks a milestone. Anderson designed her wedding dress in July 2026, and he told WWD it was “an emotional thing” to dress her. They’ve since become close friends.
Taylor wasn’t only a guest. She also performed at the gala, held at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles. The sixth annual event honoured John Carpenter, Charlize Theron and Colman Domingo. Some fans think her “Toy Story 5” song, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” could be in the running for an Oscar nomination.
