Teyana Taylor Wears Schiaparelli at the 2026 Academy Museum Gala
Teyana Taylor wore a turquoise sculpted breastplate and sheer floral skirt from Schiaparelli Fall 2026 Couture to the 2026 Academy Museum Gala.
Teyana Taylor brought some art to the 6th Annual Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles. She wore a look from Schiaparelli’s Fall 2026 Couture collection: a sculpted turquoise breastplate worn with a sheer, flower-covered skirt.
The top was the headline. It’s a molded, glossy breastplate shaped like a bare torso, with every curve and muscle sculpted into it, finished in a pale aqua-blue that fades darker at the edges. It sat strapless and tight on her body, with a sharp pointed tip that dropped well below the waist, like the front of a ship. From there the skirt took over. It was a sheer, skin-toned tulle column covered in small three-dimensional flowers in pale icy blue and scattered with crystals, and toward the hem the flowers turned from blue to a warm peach and gold. The slit at the bottom showed a little ankle. It’s strange, and also kind of beautiful.
She kept the rest sharp and simple. Her shoes were Christian Louboutin Iriza pumps, a pointed nude patent style with the brand’s signature red sole. She wore Schiaparelli’s Eye stud earrings. Her hair was a short, jet-black shaggy pixie with a choppy fringe and a bit of a mullet at the back. The makeup matched the dress: bright turquoise shadow smudged around the eyes, big lashes, glowing bronzed skin and a glossy brown-nude lip, with soft pink nails.
Teyana Taylor is a singer, dancer, actress and director. She is known for her music, for her acting in A Thousand and One and One Battle After Another, and for her bold red carpet style. Schiaparelli is a familiar name on her carpets, but this was one of her more theatrical looks. Her Ashi Studio couture at Billboard Women in Music was a very different kind of statement.
The gala took place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles. Charlize Theron received the Icon Award, John Carpenter the Luminary Award and Colman Domingo the Vantage Award, and Taylor Swift performed. The night raises money for the museum’s exhibitions, screenings and education programs.
She was just as dramatic in a purple Balenciaga gown at the 2026 American Music Awards.
