Keke Palmer in Vintage Bob Mackie Gold Gown With Open Back

Keke Palmer hosted the 2026 CFDA Fashion Awards, and she came dressed like she was going to a 1970s TV special. The night was Monday, November 2, at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, and her look was a vintage Bob Mackie gown with a very good story. Molly Dickson styled her.

The dress was custom-made by Bob Mackie for Raquel Welch, who wore it in 1975 on The Cher Show. It’s a gold, champagne-colored column covered in strings of tiny beads that run straight down the skirt, with rhinestone trim around every edge. The top is a plunging bra shape held up with crisscross halter straps around the neck. Then it gets fun. Beaded strands connect the top to the skirt across her stomach, and there are big cutouts at the sides, which show off her waist and her tattoos. The skirt has a slit up the middle that goes almost to the top of her thigh, and when she turned around you could see the open back with more crisscross straps.

The hair was just as 70s. Keke wore her auburn hair in a big bouncy bombshell blowout with flipped curls that fell to her shoulders. Her eye makeup had a hint of blue shadow, with a berry-brown lip, and she wore pale pink nails, large diamond rings and small drop earrings. She finished with metallic gold strappy heels.

The gown came from vintage dealer Timeless Vixen, who also supplies pieces to stars like Sabrina Carpenter and Kylie Jenner, according to AceShowbiz. Vintage is a habit for her, and here’s Keke Palmer’s vintage Dior look at the Spirit Awards.

Keke is an actress, singer and TV host. She started as a child star in Akeelah and the Bee and True Jackson, VP, and she’s since been in Hustlers and Nope. She also hosts Password. For another recent red carpet look from her, see Keke Palmer’s red Wiederhoeft gown at the Daytime Emmys.
