EJAE Marries Sam Kim in Danielle Frankel and Zac Posen in Seoul
KPop Demon Hunters star EJAE married Sam Kim in Seoul on Oct. 17 in a Danielle Frankel gown, Han Eun Hee hanbok and a Zac Posen reception dress.
EJAE married her longtime partner, music producer Sam Kim, in Seoul on Saturday, October 17, and she changed outfits four times. If the name’s new to you, EJAE is the Seoul-born singer-songwriter who helped write the music for KPop Demon Hunters, sings the voice of Rumi and won an Oscar for “Golden.” The couple originally planned a November wedding in California, then moved it up and brought it home to Seoul, to a venue built on her grandparents’ former property. Her KPop Demon Hunters co-stars Rei Ami and Audrey Nuna were among the guests.
The weekend started with a Paebaek, the traditional Korean family ceremony, followed by a welcome party at Congdu50. “Not everyone does Paebaek, but we wanted that traditional element,” she said. Both wore hanboks designed by Han Eun Hee. One of EJAE’s looks was a red ceremonial robe with floral embroidery, gold trim and an ornate jade-and-amber headpiece, with Sam in a dark robe with a gold dragon patch and a black hat. In another set, she wore a green jacket with a gold dragon roundel over a crimson skirt with a gold bird border, and Sam wore soft tan with a pink ribbon tie.
For the ceremony, she wore a custom Danielle Frankel gown. It’s a tulle gown with a strapless neckline, asymmetric draping across an elongated bodice, a fluted skirt with a bubbled hem and a nude chiffon layer for airiness. She wore a long veil and kept her hair slicked back, and the jewelry stayed simple, with heirloom pieces passed down from her grandmother to her mother. Sam wore a classic double-breasted tuxedo by Bhambi’s Custom Tailors in New York, made with Loro Piana fabric, and the bridesmaids wore Jenny Yoo in Fern Green, holding white paper parasols. When the party moved into the glasshouse, she changed into a custom Zac Posen gown. It’s chiffon, like the ceremony dress, but body-skimming and covered in beading, with a halter-style shawl and a long train, and she wore long drop earrings and a sleek bun. Posen took her to her first CFDA Awards in 2025, so the pairing meant a lot. Sam changed into a white double-breasted tuxedo, also by Zac Posen, with a bow tie and patent shoes. She then changed one more time, into a beaded fringe mini by Milla Nova, and danced the night away in black sunglasses.
