Mckenna Grace in black Nicole + Felicia butterfly gown at Newport Beach Film Festival Honors

Mckenna Grace wore a black butterfly gown to the Newport Beach Film Festival Honors, and it was a good pick for the occasion. The event was held on Sunday, October 18, at the Balboa Bay Resort in Newport Beach, California, alongside Variety’s 10 Actors to Watch. She was one of the night’s honorees, receiving the festival’s Spotlight Award.

The dress is from Nicole + Felicia and it’s strapless, with a sheer, corset-style bodice. You can see the boning through the fabric, which gives it a structured look. Instead of normal embellishment, the whole gown is covered in 3D lace butterflies in black and silver-white. They’re scattered across the bodice and spread out over a full tulle skirt. The skirt is a high-low shape that’s longer at the back, and it floats around her with every move. It’s dark and a little dramatic, yet the butterflies keep it feeling light.

Her shoes were simple black pointed pumps. For jewelry, she wore sparkly diamond-style stud earrings and nothing else, which let the dress stay the star.

Her hair was golden blonde, parted in the middle and smoothed back at the top, then left long and straight with a little wave at the ends. Makeup was soft and pretty, with fluttery lashes, rosy cheeks and a glossy pink lip. Her nails were a pale pink.

Mckenna Grace is an American actress, best known for playing Phoebe in Ghostbusters: Afterlife and for her early roles in Gifted and Young Sheldon. She’s become a regular on red carpets in the last year, and this one fits the darker mood of her black strapless gown at the Scream 7 premiere.

Just a day earlier, she also stood out at the Academy Museum Gala in a custom red Mônot halter gown.
