Actress and fashion icon Sarah Jessica Parker took the 'China: Through The Looking Glass' theme at the 2015 Met Gala too far in her extravagant dress.

The 50 year old star wore a gown she designed herself in collaboration with Swedish retail label H&M, exclusively for the Met Gala.

The slinky navy gown featured embroidered poppies all over, and the star showed off skin with the one-shoulder design and thigh-slit.

Perhaps the highlight of Sarah's creation was her custom made Philip Treacy head piece which resembled giant flames of fire, and instantly attracted internet meme makers.

Sarah also added SJP collection high heels, a Fendi bag, Fred Leighton jewellery and custom Cindy Chao bracelets that had her initials etched in, to her head-turning look for the event.
