Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer Review

One of my resolutions for the coming decade is certainly trying out more and more hidden drugstore makeup gems. During one of my trips to the drugstore, I randomly picked out a primer, the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Primer. Though it took me a while to get around to use it frequently and come to a decision whether I like it or not, it certainly has grown on to me and has become an essential part of my makeup routine.

I am usually a clean skin and minimal makeup gal - cleansed skin and a good moisturizer is enough for me for daily use, and for parties I like to go the extra mile and use primer and foundation as well. My skin is oily, and nothing works better than a matt foundation for me, but the humid climate often melts off my foundation, and hence the use of primer for me becomes quite important.

I randomly picked up the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Primer as it promised to give an 8-hour extended makeup wear. I did not pay much attention to its other qualities including its skin perfecting formula and minimizing and blurring pores, for me the extended wear was enough and it worked well in the hot summer months.

I liked the primer, it did what I wanted it to do for me, and I used it occasionally under my foundation. But I realized its true worth when came the winters months and my oily skin turned to a dry patchy mess. No moisturizer seemed to work for me, and for a lunch date out with my gals, I out of the blue picked up the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Primer and used it on my skin. Went without a foundation, and just wore the MAC Peaches blush on top, and could not seem to stop getting comments on my flawless skin, and that's when I realized what a gem my primer has been all along!

The Rimmel London Lasting Finish Primer is one of those products that sure does what is boasts of - it is a pore minimizing and skin perfecting formula that lasts throughout the day and evens out the skin tone as well. It comes in a 30 ml tube which is perfect to add to a travel makeup bag as well, and retails for an inexpensive £5.

The white cream-like formula blends easily into the skin, and I usually use my fingers to rub it all over the skin - a brush or a sponge is not really needed for this, however you can use a beauty blender to blend it out if you wish to. It hid my weather-change red blotches perfectly, and did not break out my skin. It does not really have a scent that will irk sensitive noses, and the formula is lightweight enough to let my skin be comfortable and breathe.

A little goes a long way with this product, and I would certainly recommend the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Primer to be used under a foundation or on its own, for flawless and healthy looking skin and smooth foundation, for all weathers and all skin types.
