Balmain Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Paris Fashion Week Show

Olivier Rousteing's 10th Anniversary Fashion Show at the Paris Spring/Summer 2022 Fashion Week was an affair to remember. Just when you thought that the Fendace Show was the best this season, Balmain's brings the cat out of the bag, and presents an eye-popping array of designs and accessories on the runway. The musical show, that went live to the public as well, started off with Beyonce's voice and then featured performances by Doja Cat and Franz Ferdinand, setting a trend for opening fashion shows.
Sashaying down the ramp dressed in Balmain best were A-list models Imaan Hammam, Naomi Campbell, Carla Bruni, Natalia Vodianova, Adut Akech, Lara Stone and Edie Campbell among others. Balmain put forth its signature designs on the runway, with models wearing cut-out dresses, heavily embellished jackets and bead-encrusted shorts, and designs with ruched detailing were also seen.
The front row was also nothing short of impressive, and had Alessandra Ambrosio, Elena Perminova and Brazilian footballer Neymar firmly set in place. Balmain hosted a two-day event for the anniversary, and along with musical performances and the fashion show, show-goers could buy food and drinks as well as branded merchandise including sneakers priced at 850 euros ($986) and bags of hair cosmetics.
‘It’s a collection that talks about the freedom to be yourself, about having the confidence to move forward into a new world, both with the clothes and for myself. It’s been 10 years so I wouldn’t say I’m opening a new chapter. I’m opening a new book,’ Rousteing said.
