Gucci brings a 70s style campaign to relaunch the blue monogram canvas
Gucci brings a touch of nostalgic 70s style with its latest campaign, showcasing the relaunch of their signature blue monogram canvas.
Luxury fashion house Gucci reimagines its blue monogram GG canvas, and brings it to life in a new campaign. Relaunched by creative director Alessandro Michele and brought to life by Max Siedentopf, the campaign is focused entirely on the design itself, and features lots of still imagery along with a short film. In a 70s style look, the campaign shows off a world completely covered in Gucci’s renowned lettering in blue, imposed on a series of apparel and accessories for men and women, with an exclusive and extensive selection of luggage.
The campaign has everything from the floor to the ceiling, draped in the signature pattern. The Gucci items, also monogramed in blue, blend in perfectly with the backdrop, made prominent by the blue leather trim and the blue-red-blue web stripe. Gucci's blue GG monogram is featured on luggage and handbags, serving as an alternative to the already popular ebony and beige combination, first introduced to the masses in 1969. The high-end fashion house's new color variation, first introduced in the early 1970s, is relaunched on selected styles from the Ophidia line, including a trolley in different sizes, a duffle bag, a garment bag, two different backpacks, a hobo bag, a shoulder bag and a belt bag. Other than this, a tote in different sizes, a briefcase and a messenger bag are also offered in the collection.
The blue monogram is also seen across different shoe styles, from slide sandals and slippers to slingback pumps and loafers, and even styles including the Jackie 1961, the Gucci Horsebit 1955 and the Dionysus, The styles are detailed with a blue-red-blue web, blue leather trim and silver-toned hardware, adding to their oomph and sophistication. Pieces from the GG Blue Canvas collection retail for $280-$3,950.
