Pete Davidson's "Saturday Night Live" journey is coming to an end after eight years! As reported by Variety, Davidson became a member of the cast of SNL back in 2014, at the age of only 20 years old, and still a relatively unknown comedian. Belonging from New York's Staten Island, Pete has since then made a name for himself, and been in the limelight with unforgettable characters like the nonchalant Chad, and standout performances in the "Weekend Update," and viral skits like "Jasmine and Aladdin," which he performed with his now-girlfriend, Kim Kardashian.
One of the youngest cast members in SNL history, Davidson began his stint with smaller roles, and won over audiences with his dry and often self-deprecating humor. His presence became more known, as the years passed by, and his love life grabbed the interest of fans and media alike. He went on to miss two shows at the beginning of this season, as he spent time filming his new horror thriller, "The Home," and Davidson eventually returned to SNL.
Continuing with his extremely busy schedule, and in Davidson's own words, he's even shocked he's been with the cast for this long. Interviewed by The Hollywood Reporter about whether he would ever do an 18-season run like Kenan Thompson, Davidson replied, "Yeah, I'm good. I'm surprised I made it to seven. I'm ready to hang up the jersey."
The news of Pete's departure has yet to be confirmed by NBC, as the network typically takes the summer to reevaluate its cast for the upcoming season. Fans will have to have some patience, and wait until then to see if Davidson would be coming back to SNL, or will be biding adieu.
