Retinol

Retinol is a derivative of vitamin A and is popular for acne for all the right reasons. Salicylic (BHA) or Lactic Acid (AHA)

Both salicylic and lactic acids are essential components that gently exfoliate the skin. They help to unclog pores, clear excess sebum, and reduce inflammation, and make the skin glowing and blemish-free.

Sunscreen

Acne or not, sunscreen is the most important part of any skincare routine. Time and again you will hear dermatologists and skin specialists talking about the importance of including a good sunscreen in your routine, especially when using powerful ingredients, like retinols, AHAs, and BHAs. A gentle, non-greasy sunscreen is a must for your AM skincare routine.

Sulfur

If you find salicylic or lactic acid a bit too strong for your skin type, sulfur is the answer for you. Sulfur is known for its antimicrobial properties, and it helps absorb excess oil and unclog pores. It also helps prevent breakouts without over drying the skin.

Silk Pillowcase

Silk pillowcases aren’t just great for the hair but also for the skin. As silk is less absorbent than other pillowcase fabrics, like cotton and bamboo, it won’t absorb the oil and dirt on your skin for you to sleep on the following night.

Often topical treatments don’t work for every one as all skin types are different. It is essential to consult with a skincare professional if your hormonal acne is persistent.
