Rihanna confirms baby #2 on the way during a stunning Super Bowl LVII Halftime performance! Catch all the glitz, glam, and surprise announcement here.
The crowds ran wild when nine-time Grammy Award winner Rihanna took to the Super Bowl halftime show to announce that she is pregnant with her second child! Surprising fans with a baby bump during her highly anticipated comeback, the 34-year-old, who gave birth to her first child, a baby boy, just nine months ago, sent social media wild as she rubbed her tummy in front of a global audience of millions and millions at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The halftime show was held during the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs' match, and Riri's second pregnancy was further confirmed when a representative for the star said affirmative to the baby news shortly after the performance finished.
The halftime show marked the first time Rihanna has performed on live television since 2018, and the songstress started off the show suspended on a platform high above the field as she crooned out her single B**** Better Have My Money. Putting her curves on show, the musician turned business mogul, wore a baggy scarlet jumpsuit that was strapped loosely on her. Underneath the jumpsuit, she wore a figure-hugging bodysuit that highlighted her burgeoning baby bump, and also wore matching chunky red trainers. The music icon shares her first child, born on May 13, 2022, with rapper A$AP Rocky, who was also present for the performance, though kept a low profile. The couple have been keeping a low profile, and so far have not shared the name of their first born.
When the performance began, Riri was suspended on a platform, then descended toward the field, where she joined a bevy of dancers clad in white. Understandably, she kept her dancing moves to a minimum due to her pregnancy, and let the backup dancers pick up the slack. Rihanna crooned her hits and didn't reveal any new songs during her performance, and had the crowd going wild as she sang 12 songs. After opening the performance, she transitioned into Where Have You Been, followed by Only Girl (In The World). We Found Love, Rude Boy and Work, and continued with Wild Thoughts and Pour It Up. The hitmaker also opted for some controversial song choices, including an excerpt of her verse from the rapper Kanye West's All Of The Lights, and she also performed a part of Jay-Z's Run This Town, which also featured West in its original version. Her performance was rounded off with Umbrella and then Diamonds, and didn't include added theatrics, but the fans were happy to have her back on stage.
