Dua Lipa Teases "Dance the Night" for 'Barbie' Movie Soundtrack, Unveils Versace Collaboration in Cannes

Dua Lipa gave fans a glimpse of her highly anticipated song for the upcoming "Barbie" movie soundtrack. Taking to Instagram on Monday, the singer shared a teaser for her track titled "Dance the Night," set to be released on Friday.

In addition to the song preview, the video also provided a sneak peek of Lipa's collaboration with Versace. She co-designed the "La Vacanza" collection for this year alongside creative director Donatella Versace. The resort 2024 line will make its debut in Cannes, France, coinciding with the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.

In the teaser, Lipa is seen stepping out of a pair of fuzzy pink mules, blowing a quick kiss at the camera. She rocks a rhinestone halter top, accessorized with layered necklaces featuring Medusa pendants and butterfly charms that complement her matching earrings.

Donatella Versace expressed her admiration for Lipa, describing her as strong, fearless, and possessing exceptional creative vision. The opportunity to collaborate with Versace is a dream come true for Lipa, who first met the renowned designer in 2017. Following her appearance in Versace's fall 2021 campaign, Lipa also graced the runway during the label's spring 2022 presentation in Milan.

Directed by Greta Gerwig, the "Barbie" movie is set to premiere on July 21. Lipa joins the ensemble cast as a mermaid version of the iconic fashion doll, while Australian actress Margot Robbie takes on the titular character and Ryan Gosling stars as Ken.

Apart from her Versace collaboration, Lipa has more surprises in store at the Cannes event. On Friday night, she made her red carpet debut with boyfriend Romain Gavras, a French filmmaker renowned for his work on music videos such as M.I.A.'s "Bad Girls" and Kanye West's "No Church in the Wild."
