A Canadian teacher is determined to regain her job after being fired due to her involvement in creating content for OnlyFans, as reported by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).

Kristin MacDonald, a 35-year-old teaching assistant, was dismissed from her position of eight years after receiving a letter from school board officials notifying her of the termination. The letter, obtained by media outlets including The NY Post, outlined multiple reasons for her firing, describing her conduct as "egregious."

To support her family, including her young daughter, MacDonald turned to OnlyFans, where she shared exclusive content. Under the pseudonym "Miss Ava James," she also posted bikini photos on her Instagram account. MacDonald, who earned $1,000 CAD every two weeks, explained that her financial struggles led her to explore alternative means of income.

In late April, MacDonald received an initial letter from the school district, demanding that she remove all accounts associated with explicit content or face termination. She alleges that the school accessed her OnlyFans content using taxpayer money as part of their investigation leading to the decision to fire her. However, MacDonald remains steadfast and has sought the assistance of a union to help her fight for her job reinstatement.

According to union representative Randy Kootte, the union does not believe that MacDonald's off-duty conduct violated any company policies or provisions outlined in the collective bargaining agreement. MacDonald expressed a mix of disappointment and optimism, acknowledging that the process is ongoing.

This incident bears resemblance to a similar case involving an Indiana teacher, Sarah Juree, who was fired after her colleague reported her bikini photos on OnlyFans to the school board. Juree, 41, viewed her dismissal as a "blessing in disguise" and claimed that she earned more in her first month on OnlyFans than she did in an entire year of teaching.
