Taylor Swift & SZA top 2024 Grammy noms with epic records! Dive into their historic triumphs and music milestones.
The list of nominees for the 2024 Grammy Awards, revealed on Friday morning, spotlights Taylor Swift and SZA as leading contenders. Swift, celebrated for her record-breaking reissue of the '1989' album, garnered six nominations, including Album of the Year and Record of the Year.
Swift's nominations are primarily for her critically acclaimed album 'Midnights' and its hit single 'Anti-Hero'. The song, which received widespread acclaim, is up for both Record of the Year—a category that recognizes recording artists, producers, and engineers—and Song of the Year, which honors songwriters. Taylor, alongside her frequent collaborator Jack Antonoff, is nominated for Song of the Year for writing 'Anti-Hero'. She is also in the running for Best Pop Solo Performance for the same track, while her collaboration with Ice Spice on 'Karma' earned a nod for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Additionally, 'Midnights' is contending for Best Pop Vocal Album and the prestigious Album of the Year. If Swift wins the latter, she will become the first artist ever to clinch the category four times, surpassing legends like Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon, and Stevie Wonder.
Meanwhile, SZA leads this year's nominations with nine, thanks to her widely acclaimed album 'SOS'. Her album is in contention for Album of the Year and Best Progressive R&B Album. Her hit 'Kill Bill' is nominated for both Record and Song of the Year, as well as Best R&B Performance. Her collaborative track 'Ghost In The Machine' with Phoebe Bridgers is up for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, while 'Love Language' is nominated for Best Traditional R&B Performance. SZA's other nominations include 'Snooze' for Best R&B Song and 'Low' for Best Melodic Rap Performance.
The Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled for February 4 in Los Angeles, with the broadcast airing at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS and its streaming service Paramount+. Other notable artists in the fray for top honors include Billie Eilish and Miley Cyrus, making the 2024 Grammys a highly anticipated event in the music industry.
