Jennifer Love Hewitt Debuts Fiery Red Hair at ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ Premiere

Jennifer Love Hewitt brought major heat to the red carpet last night.

The 46-year-old actress showed off her new red hair at the Los Angeles premiere of “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” While she first debuted the ginger shade in May, this marks its first official red carpet appearance.

Hewitt wore a black beaded midi dress by Rachel Gilbert paired with rhinestone-covered heels. She kept her accessories minimal, skipping a necklace and opting for multiple rings with stacked silver and gold bracelets.

“I have wanted to be red for so long!” she shared on Instagram, thanking her colorist Nikki Lee for creating the “Sunset Lover” shade.

Fellow actress Alyssa Milano commented, “This is a yes for me. 😍,” while co-star Tommy DiDario joked, “Ravishing in red! Should I go red to match???”

Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. are reprising their roles from the 1997 slasher classic and its 1998 sequel. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, she admitted feeling hesitant about returning. “If I was coming back as Julie, I just wanted to make sure that we were bringing back the best and right version of her,” she said. “I wanted her to fit into the movie in the right way and have a reason to come back besides just ‘90s nostalgia.”

Back in 1997, 18-year-old Hewitt wore a strapless navy embroidered dress with black platforms to the original premiere, styling her brown hair in a curled ponytail.

The new film, out July 18, features Madeline Cline, Gabbriette Bechtel, Chase Sui Wonders, Austin Nichols, Jonah Hauer-King, Tyriq Withers, and Billy Campbell.
