Sami Sheen Details Debilitating OCD Struggles and Daily Impact
Sami Sheen opens up about her OCD struggles, calling out misconceptions and sharing how the disorder impacts her daily life.
Sami Sheen is opening up about her experience with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), sharing how deeply it affects her daily life.
In a recent TikTok video, the 21-year-old daughter of Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards pushed back on casual misuses of the term. “Nothing aggravates me more than when someone says, ‘I’m so OCD, I like to keep things tidy,’” she said.
Sheen then described her reality with the disorder, which causes intrusive thoughts and compulsions. “If I buy something from the grocery store, I’ll read the expiration date over and over. But somehow, I convince myself it’s expired and if I eat it, I’ll get violently ill—so I throw it away and starve,” she explained.
She captioned the clip with a dose of dark humor: “so fun #ocd.”
The post sparked an outpouring of support from viewers who shared their own struggles with OCD—ranging from eating restrictions to compulsive safety checks. “I’ve eaten nothing but toast for a month,” one commenter wrote. Another added, “I set a timer every time I eat just to make sure I won’t have an allergic reaction, even though I’ve never had one.”
Sheen has also recently spoken out about her health in other ways, revealing in June that she plans to have her breast implants removed due to suspected breast implant illness. In a mirror selfie, she listed symptoms including fatigue, memory loss, joint pain, and more.
Still, in true Sami fashion, she added a pop culture twist: she’s holding off on surgery just long enough to dress up as Pamela Anderson for Halloween.
