Rebecca Vallance to Redesign Qantas Uniforms Ahead of 2027 Launch
Rebecca Vallance is redesigning Qantas uniforms for 2027, blending style, comfort, and storytelling into the airline’s iconic look.
Australian fashion designer Rebecca Vallance has been named the next uniform designer for Qantas Airways, marking a major moment in the airline’s style legacy. The new designs are set to debut in 2027, blending modern functionality with timeless sophistication.
“This appointment is both a great honor and a responsibility I don’t take lightly,” Vallance said of the role. “The Qantas uniform carries a legacy, and I’m excited to contribute to its next chapter while respecting its history.”
Vallance joins a line of legendary designers who have shaped Qantas uniforms over the decades. Emilio Pucci introduced bold psychedelic prints in the 1970s, while Yves Saint Laurent redefined the look in the 1980s with navy tailoring accented in red. Most recently, Martin Grant’s 2013 collection gave the airline its signature sleek navy and red palette.
For her upcoming designs, Vallance says she is focused on functionality, comfort, and storytelling, ensuring the pieces celebrate Qantas’ history while meeting the needs of modern cabin crew.
This news comes amid a wave of airlines collaborating with high fashion houses. Earlier this year, Jacquemus created first-class loungewear for Air France, while Emilia Wickstead unveiled culturally inspired uniforms for Air New Zealand, featuring hand-painted prints by Māori artist Te Rangitu Netana.
With Vallance’s appointment, Qantas is not only continuing its fashion-forward tradition but also reinforcing its reputation as one of the world’s most stylish carriers.
