Harriet Sperling Wore Custom Emilia Wickstead For Her Wedding To Peter Phillips In Gloucestershire
Harriet Sperling married Peter Phillips in a custom Emilia Wickstead wedding gown with lace details, a Pragnell tiara and Jimmy Choo pumps.
Harriet Sperling looked every bit the modern royal bride as she married Peter Phillips at All Saints’ Church in Kemble, Gloucestershire, on June 6. The NHS paediatric nurse exchanged vows with Princess Anne’s son in a ceremony attended by senior members of the British royal family, including King Charles III, Queen Camilla, and the Prince and Princess of Wales.
For her big day, Sperling chose a breathtaking custom wedding gown by Emilia Wickstead, a designer long admired by royal women. The bespoke creation blended timeless elegance with meaningful personal touches. At its core was an ivory Italian crepe square-neck column dress, topped with a removable lace overjacket fitted above the waist. The delicate overlay featured a high neckline, sheer long sleeves, and intricate embroidery inspired by wildflowers native to Gloucestershire, where both the bride and groom spent much of their childhoods.
One of the gown’s standout features was its dramatic three-metre train, which flowed beautifully behind her as she arrived at the church. Emilia Wickstead incorporated historic Leavers lace, an exceptionally fine fabric first developed in Nottingham in the early 19th century. The same lace was used on Harriet’s veil, creating a cohesive bridal look rich in British craftsmanship and heritage. The prairie-flower motif woven into the lace added another sentimental layer, celebrating the countryside landscape that shaped the couple’s story.
Harriet completed her bridal ensemble with a diamond and pearl tiara and matching earrings on loan from Pragnell, the prestigious family-run jeweller that also created her engagement ring. The tiara featured elegant laurel leaves and articulated floral motifs inspired by both Edwardian and Art Deco design traditions, lending a regal finish to the look. She also wore ivory satin Jimmy Choo pumps beneath the gown.
Her blonde hair was styled into a sleek low updo beneath the lace-edged veil, allowing the tiara and earrings to take centre stage. Soft, natural makeup enhanced the romantic feel of the bridal styling, while her bouquet of seasonal roses, sweet peas, astilbe, and jasmine offered a touching tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, to whom Peter Phillips was famously close.
Adding an especially heartwarming touch to the ceremony, Harriet was accompanied by her daughter Georgina, 13, and Peter’s daughters Savannah, 15, and Isla, 14. The girls wore coordinating white Emilia Wickstead dresses with lily-of-the-valley headpieces and ballet flats, perfectly complementing the bride’s elegant aesthetic.
The result was a wedding look that felt classic, meaningful, and effortlessly regal—one that will undoubtedly be remembered among the most beautiful royal bridal moments of recent years.
