Amanda Seyfried Wore Custom Miu Miu Fringe Dress at Venice Women's Tales Event

Amanda Seyfried brought easy, breezy glamour to the Lido this week. The actress, known for "Mamma Mia!," "Mean Girls" and her Emmy-winning turn in "The Dropout," stepped out for the Miu Miu Women's Tales photocall during the 2026 Venice Film Festival, tying into her role in "Discipline," the new short film from director Mona Fastvold that premiered as part of the annual series.
Seyfried wore a custom Miu Miu dress in a soft lilac tone, with a loose, gathered slip silhouette that fell just above the knee. The straps were the real detail worth noticing: fine crystal-embellished spaghetti straps that caught the light against the otherwise relaxed, flowy fabric. The bodice was scattered with subtle pearl-like beading, but the standout moment came at the hemline, where delicate strands of beaded fringe hung down in soft pink and clear tones, swaying with movement and giving the simple shape a little extra drama without tipping into anything overdone.
She wore her blonde hair down in loose waves with a center part, keeping her glam soft and natural with rosy cheeks and a mauve-toned lip. For jewelry, she chose delicate pearl drop earrings and a couple of simple rings, letting the dress's own beading carry most of the shine. She finished the look with black mule-style heeled sandals, an easy, uncomplicated pairing that suited the daytime photocall setting.
The event tied into Miu Miu's long-running Women's Tales series, which has commissioned female directors to make short films for the brand since 2011, always premiering the winter installment at Venice. Seyfried stars in Fastvold's "Discipline," which follows the two filmmakers reuniting after their earlier collaboration on "The Testament of Ann Lee." The short screened at the Sala Perla on September 5, with Seyfried also joining a Miu Miu-hosted panel discussion at the Hotel Excelsior the following day.
