Anne Hathaway showed off her baby bump in a custom black Atelier Prabal Gurung gown with a sheer cape at the Verity premiere in New York.
Anne Hathaway made a big entrance at the New York premiere of Verity, and her baby bump was front and center. The Oscar-winning actress, known for The Devil Wears Prada, Les Misérables and The Princess Diaries, is expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman. She arrived at AMC Lincoln Square on September 29 in a custom black gown from Atelier Prabal Gurung, styled by Erin Walsh.
The dress was far from a typical maternity look. It had a strapless sweetheart neckline and a fitted bodice covered in shredded chiffon florals and crystal bead embroidery, which hugged her bump. Below the waist, it flared into a full pleated tulle skirt with embroidered sequins, and a sheer, glittery cape fell behind her into a long train. Anne let the dress show off her shape, and she kept a hand on her bump for several photos.
Jewelry stayed simple but pretty. She wore Bvlgari earrings with green and gold detail, plus a stack of diamond bracelets and a sparkling cocktail ring. Her hair was pulled back into a sleek high ponytail, which kept the focus on the neckline. She went for bronze eye makeup, a soft nude matte lip and dark burgundy nails.
The look fits the film well. Anne plays bestselling author Verity Crawford in the psychological thriller, based on Colleen Hoover's novel, and black suited the mood. Co-stars Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett joined her on the carpet. The premiere also marked her fifth and final press tour of the year. Throughout her pregnancy she has favored flowing shapes, like her Prada look in New York and a blue chiffon Dior gown in London for The Odyssey. This structured, sculpted gown felt like a fresh change. Verity opens in theaters on October 2.
