Elle Fanning Wore Custom Ralph Lauren Collection at the 78th Emmy Awards
Elle Fanning wore a custom beaded Ralph Lauren gown with Cartier jewelry to the 78th Emmy Awards, where she's nominated for two awards.
Elle Fanning traded her usual princess-dress glamour for something a little more modern at this year's Emmys, and it paid off. The "Margo's Got Money Troubles" star, who's nominated for two awards this year, hit the blue carpet at the Peacock Theater on September 14 for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards in a shimmering pistachio-green gown that stood out immediately.
Elle wore a custom silk chiffon gown from Ralph Lauren Collection, hand-embellished with micro-cut glass beads that gave the fabric an all-over shimmer under the lights. The dress featured a plunging V-neckline, a fitted, bias-cut silhouette, and a completely open back. One shoulder carried a dramatic fabric ornament that started as fluttering waves near the strap and cascaded down into delicate, fringe-like tassels trailing all the way to the floor alongside a long train. Styled by Samantha McMillen, the look marked a noticeable shift from Fanning's usual Old Hollywood-leaning red carpet choices.
She finished the outfit with Cartier drop earrings, fitting given her status as a Cartier ambassador and the face of the brand's Grain de Café collection. Her hair, styled by Jenda Alcorn, was parted in the middle with long, flouncy barrel curls framing her face, while makeup artist Erin Ayanian Monroe gave her bold brows, defined lined eyes, and a glossy lip.
Fanning earned her second career Emmy nomination for acting this year, up for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for playing the title role in "Margo's Got Money Troubles," and a second nod as an executive producer for the show's Outstanding Comedy Series nomination. The Apple TV+ series, based on the novel by Rufi Thorpe and co-produced with her sister Dakota through their company Lewellen Pictures, picked up eight nominations total. Between the double nomination and this standout Ralph Lauren moment, it was a big night for Fanning on every front.
