Sarah Pidgeon Wore Burgundy Givenchy Midi Dress at 2026 BAFTA Tea Party
Sarah Pidgeon wore a sculptural burgundy Givenchy midi dress to the 2026 BAFTA Tea Party, a design also recently worn by Kerry Washington.
Sarah Pidgeon continues to build one of the most interesting fashion resumes of the year. The actress, who broke through playing Carolyn Bessette Kennedy in FX's "Love Story," attended the 2026 BAFTA Tea Party on September 13 at the Maybourne Beverly Hills, and she showed up in a dress that was as much sculpture as it was clothing.
Sarah wore a burgundy midi dress from Givenchy done in a coated, leather-look material with a sleek shine to it. The bodice is where all the drama lives, built from folded, origami-like panels that twist and layer across the chest before settling into a more fitted skirt below the waist. One side sits higher near the collarbone while the opposite shoulder dips into a thin strap, giving the dress an asymmetrical, off-kilter silhouette. The skirt itself falls in a straight column down to mid-calf, with a subtle front slit for movement.
She kept things simple everywhere else, wearing her blonde hair down and straight with a soft center part, and pairing the dress with plain black strappy heeled sandals so nothing competed with the sculptural bodice. Interestingly, the same Givenchy design recently showed up in a Variety magazine shoot worn by Kerry Washington, making Sarah's tea party appearance the dress's second major style moment this year.
The BAFTA Tea Party is one of the more low-key stops on the Emmy weekend circuit, a relaxed, mid-day gathering rather than a formal red carpet, but Sarah treated it like any other statement-making opportunity. She's quickly built a reputation this awards season for gravitating toward architectural, texture-driven pieces, and this Givenchy moment fits right into that pattern.
