Anne Hathaway sheer black maternity look NYC

Anne Hathaway just proved that maternity style can be bold in the daytime too. The Oscar-winning actress, known for The Princess Diaries, The Devil Wears Prada and Les Misérables, stepped out in New York on Wednesday, September 30, for an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. She waved at cameras outside the studio in Midtown, and her baby bump was the main attraction.

She wore an all-black outfit with a clever twist. The top had a wide, folded off-the-shoulder neckline that framed her collarbones, along with sheer mesh sleeves that stretched to her wrists. Right at the center, a see-through panel covered her stomach, while two long, draped layers hung open on each side like curtains, almost like a built-in window for her bump. Underneath, she wore wide-leg black trousers that flowed all the way to the ground, which kept the whole look long and flowing.

Her accessories were simple but sparkly. Anne kept her neckline bare so the draped fabric could stand out, then added dark rectangular sunglasses, chunky diamond-style earrings, a stack of silver-toned bangles and a couple of sparkly rings. She finished with black open-toe heels and a dark wine-colored manicure.

Her hair was long, straight and brunette, swept smoothly back from her face and left loose over her shoulders. She smiled for the photographers with a glossy pink lip.

The outing followed a big night. The evening before, she walked the carpet at the New York premiere of Verity in a custom black Atelier Prabal Gurung gown and a sheer glittering cape. Her daytime outfit kept the same black palette but felt softer and easier. Earlier in the tour, she also showed off a bright red lettuce-trim dress and a black knit halter dress.

Anne is expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman, and she announced the news over the summer. In Verity, a psychological thriller based on Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel, she stars alongside Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett.
