Scarlett Johansson Shows Off Her Back Tattoos in Red Hermès at the “Ray Gunn” Premiere

Scarlett Johansson went bold with colour for the world premiere of Ray Gunn in London, and the back view got just as much attention as the front. The Black Widow and Lost in Translation actress turned up at the BFI London Film Festival on Saturday, October 10, in a vivid red strapless dress from Hermès Resort 2027.

The dress was made from shiny red satin, with a structured bodice and a gathered, pleated detail at the centre of the bust. Below the waist, a full, rounded skirt was gathered at the seams and ended just past her knee. It also had pockets, which she used for a few relaxed poses. Because the top was strapless and the back was open, her tattoos were on show. A cluster of roses climbs between her shoulder blades, along with a small lamb, and she turned around with her hands on her hips so photographers could get a good look.

Everything else was kept low-key. Her blonde, shoulder-length hair was styled in soft, tousled waves, and her only jewelry was a fine gold pendant necklace. She wore red strappy lace-up heeled sandals that matched the dress, and she smiled the whole way down the blue carpet.

Ray Gunn is Brad Bird’s animated sci-fi noir, set in an alternate 1939 city called Metropia where humans live next to aliens. Scarlett voices Venus Nova, a multimedia star who is tied to a murder case. Sam Rockwell voices private eye Raymond Gunn, with Tom Waits, Bobby Cannavale and Alan Tudyk also in the cast. Bird and Rockwell joined her at the premiere. The film hits select cinemas on December 4 before streaming on Netflix on December 18.
