Body Scrub

Two or three times a week give yourself a special treat and use a very gentle exfoliating scrub or cream all over the body. This will help slough off dull surface to give the skin a finer texture and better color, as well as boosting sluggish circulation. Exfoliation also softens those areas prone to hard skin, such as the heels, knees and elbows. And sloughing off dead skin makes it easier for moisturizers to be absorbed. Body scrubs should be slightly rougher than facial scrubs but do not use on vulnerable areas such as the neck, the under-arms and the backs on knees.

How To Scrub:

1. When your skin is still moist after showering, gently massage a little scrub into the areas that are prone to cellulite; the hips, buttocks and highs. Work on each area for about two minutes but do not rush to rub too hard as this will cause skin to become red and dry.

2. Now concentrate on the parts of the body where hard skin is moist likely to develop, such as the elbows, the front of knees and the heels, rubbing the scrub in with a small body brush.

3. Shower off all traces of scrub using the water to massage in circular movements over the thighs, hips, buttocks and breasts. If you are feeling brave, finish by showering with cold water.

4. Gently rub dry with a firm towel and then massage a moisturizing body lotion over your whole body.
