Kate wore the Cambridge Lover's Knot Tiara, previously owned by Diana, and an Alexander McQueen gown

Wearing the Lover's Knot tiara for the fourth time, the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton attended the state banquet held in honour of the Dutch royals. The glittering reception was held for King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of Netherlands, and the 36 year old Duchess was dressed to impress.

Opting for her favourite designer Alexander McQueen once again, Kate Middleton wore the lavish diamond and pearl tiara owned by the late Princess Diana, to whom it was given by the Queen as a wedding present. Kate's pale blue Alexander McQueen gown was a ruched style with a fishtail silhouette, and looked perfect on the Duchess.

Kate Middleton also wore for the first time the Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth II, which is bestowed on female members of the royal family by the Queen, and it is believed that it was given to the Duchess in December 2017. The order features the picture of a young Queen pinned on a yellow ribbon surrounded by diamonds.

The Duchess, who gave birth to her third child in April 2017, channeled old Hollywood glamour, and looked impressive. She has previous worn her late mother-in-law's Lover's Knot Tiara to the Spanish State Banquet last year and the Chinese state banquet in 2015 along with the Diplomatic Reception in 2016. Kate also wore statement diamond and pearl jewellery other than the tiara.
