Not one to shy away from trying a new trend, fame of Game of Thrones, actress Sophie Turner arrived at the 2022 Glamour Women of the Year Awards, showing off a new hairdo. The actress has tried countless beauty trends in the past, including siren eyes with a twist, but for the event held on 1st November, the mum-of-two debuted a wispy, long fringe known as Birkin bangs.
The trend takes name after iconic actor and model Jane Birkin for her popular hairstyle of the '60s. What sets apart Birkin bangs from regular bangs that they are longer than the traditional fringe, cascading right in between the brows and lashes. "They're not heavy bangs at all and are, in fact, sparse enough to expose the eyebrows despite being long enough to cover them," Devin Toth, hairstylist at Salon SCK, spoke about them. Turner's Birkin Bangs are perfectly symmetrical and suited for her face, extending in sparse gaps to the lowest arc of her eyebrows
Looking effortless, Turner wore her long red hair in loose waves, and also opted for an intense eye makeup with her deep brown Louis Vuitton crushed velvet mini-dress that was paired with red knee-high boots and a box clutch. The ambassador for the French fashion house has previously worn a blunt fringe while her hair had been blond, and she now joins the likes of celebrities Becky G and Lily Collins who've experimented with Birkin bangs. She recently stepped out with Joe Jonas in matching leather jackets for date night.
