Oceanus Spring/Summer 2023 Swimwear Lookbook

Swimwear label Oceanus is known for its commitment to help empower women with its sensational fashion designs. The latest collection from the brand keeps up with its ethos, and is lensed by London-based photographer Charlie Denis. The designs are presented in a powerful story that takes inspiration from old Hollywood glamour and tropical climates, and the eye-catching designs instantly set the mood. Oceanus redefines swimwear through new seasonal textures that do not compromise sustainability. Each piece of the collection is made from eco-friendly materials and biodegradable hand-embroidered embellishments. For Spring/Summer 2023, the campaign heads to a tropical beach with crystal waters, palm trees and white sands, and the designs of lurex glitter bikinis, one-pieces and sheer beachwear are highlighted.

The models turn up the heat, and are fierce and confident in the label’s latest collection. A prominent piece in the collection is the “Callie” night dress in red and nude, an ideal design to dance the summer nights away in. The swim collection is heavily focused on prints and the brand's signature palm print is seen along with ’70s metallic swirls and the leopard print. Elsewhere in the collection, the designs are in rich jewel tones, giving the campaign a tropical paradise vibe.

On the vision of the campaign, Denis noted he wanted to build a paradisiacal world, “I initially drew inspiration from old Hollywood movies, where the use of elements such as set builds and studio lighting provide an air of artifice that makes for a certain kind of magical sensibility, offering a break from reality. I sought to marry this vintage aesthetic with the timeless and editorial high-glamour of our two panda-eyed, Amazonian-like models that appear both wild and powerful in this absurd part-jungle, part-naval world.”
