Addison Rae Wears Rodarte’s Van Gogh Sunflower Dress for Grammy Museum Show
Addison Rae shines in a Van Gogh-inspired Rodarte dress at the Grammy Museum, proving her love of high fashion and archival runway looks.
Addison Rae took her performance style to high-fashion heights at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, stepping onstage in an archival Rodarte design that doubled as a work of art.
The pop star wore a drop-waist dress from Rodarte’s Spring 2012 runway, a collection inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s paintings and Disney’s Sleeping Beauty. Her look featured the Dutch master’s sunflower series splashed across the off-the-shoulder neckline and pleated circle skirt. The design isn’t just runway history—it was also displayed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s 2024 exhibition Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.
Styled by Dara Allen, Addison kept her glam minimal and paired the dress with classic Christian Louboutin pumps. The pared-back styling allowed the Van Gogh print to take center stage, echoing the 2010s runway moment when the dress first debuted.
Rodarte’s Spring 2012 collection became a cult favorite, with its Starry Night and sunflower motifs earning front-row attention from Elle and Dakota Fanning, Rooney Mara, Saoirse Ronan, and Taylor Swift. Addison’s choice to revisit the collection underscores her fashion-nerd credentials, cementing her status as a pop star who doesn’t just follow trends—she curates them.
This isn’t her first time dipping into the archives. Addison has previously worn looks from Galliano-era Dior, Maison Margiela, and Versace, but this Rodarte moment might be her most museum-worthy yet.
Her fashion moment also follows her latest campaign with Lucky Brand, where she fronts the revival of ultra-low-rise jeans in a Y2K-inspired collection. The collaboration highlights her dual role as both a trendsetter in pop music and a face of nostalgic American denim. You can see more from that campaign here.
