Daisy Edgar-Jones' Naked Dress Moment at the Sense and Sensibility Sydney Premiere
Daisy Edgar-Jones wore a sheer sequin corset gown with ribbon straps and a ruffled train to the Sense and Sensibility premiere in Sydney.
Daisy Edgar-Jones took her Sense and Sensibility press tour all the way to Sydney, and she brought her most romantic look yet. The English actress, known for Normal People, Where the Crawdads Sing and Twisters, plays Elinor Dashwood in Georgia Oakley's new take on the Jane Austen novel. For the Sydney premiere, she wore a sheer gown that mixed delicate details with plenty of sparkle.
The dress started with a beaded corset bodice in a soft champagne shade, covered in silver sequins and finished with eyelets and a ribbon lace-up front. Thin satin ribbons tied into little bows over each shoulder, while sheer blush cups peeked out from underneath. Below the waist, the skirt was a see-through, nude-pink organza column dotted with clusters of silver and ruby-red sequins. A ruffled seam ran diagonally across the front, and the hem trailed into a ruffle-edged train that followed her down the red carpet.
Her hair and makeup kept the focus on the dress. Daisy wore her long chestnut-auburn hair straight and sleek, parted in the middle, with her full fringe falling softly over her eyes. Her skin looked dewy, her brown eyes had soft definition, and she finished with a glossy rosy-nude lip.
The look fits her playful approach to this tour. At the London premiere, she wore a custom champagne Vivienne Westwood gown with antique Boucheron jewels. A day later, she turned heads in a sheer black Shushu/Tong lace dress over hot-pink lingerie. In Berlin, she sparkled in a silver Armani Privé gown. While in Sydney, she also wore an ivory Alaïa dress to the photocall at Wendy's Secret Garden.
Stylist Dani Michelle has worked on her looks across the tour, mixing period touches like corsetry and ribbons with modern shapes. The film also stars Esmé Creed-Miles as Marianne Dashwood, alongside Caitríona Balfe, George MacKay and Fiona Shaw. Sense and Sensibility opens in theaters on October 16.
